Coming to terms with our mortality is a universal challenge. Acknowledging the reality, moving with the pain and suffering and arriving at a place of finding and making meaning in it, is the task of living our dying well. In all of this there can be growth.

People who are diagnosed with a serious illness often talk about having to put their lives on hold while they receive treatment. These are living losses that we will grieve.

Palliative care is specialised medical care for people living with a serious illness. This type of care is focused on providing relief from the symptoms and stress of the illness.

Mindfulness can help us navigate stressful situations and uncomfortable feelings, increase our capacity for empathy and allow us to reframe our lives with life-limiting illness.
